Since the group鈥檚 start, the CEAE JEDI Committee has accomplished the following:
- Hosted Coffee Hours for CEAE graduate students where they could connect with each other and discuss current events.
- In conjunction with the听Center for Teaching & Learning, we facilitated Lunch and Learn events for CEAE faculty and graduate students to educate them on inclusive teaching practices.
- Worked alongside the CEAE Pathways Committee, the CEAS Admissions Team, and the BOLD Center to target recruitment efforts to ensure our department is connecting with underrepresented student populations.
- Developed a robust听inclusive pedagogy resource document听for department use.
- Funded additional undergraduate research assistantships for diverse candidates in collaboration with the Discovery Learning Apprenticeship (DLA) program.
- Hosted an event with the BOLD Center to discuss undergraduate research opportunities with students
- Hosted an infrastructure equity seminar series.
- Established the CEAE Inclusive Excellence webpage which discusses the department鈥檚 commitment to inclusivity and directs community members to resources.
- Created an anonymous feedback form for members of the department to provide feedback on their experiences, encouraging discussion on inclusion and equity in culture, leadership, and policy.
- Initiated a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) email campaign called the 鈥淒EI Minute鈥. Every two weeks, the CEAE JEDI team sends a brief email (designed to be read in one minute or less) to the department鈥檚 students, staff, and faculty on DEI topics.听
