For over a decade, the CAIRR Neuroscience Laboratory in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder has conducted a series of clinical research studies about the efficacy of acupressure for stress, cardiovascular function in stroke survivors, and mild traumatic brain injury in both civilian and veteran populations. Findings from this research suggest that acupressure has a regulating effect on certain autonomic nervous system functions, and enhances the efficiency of the brain’s cognitive functioning.Ìý
