M4 Range training was held at the Fort Carson – February 12, 2022
Cadets interested in working on their marksmanship/target practice skills were given the chance this past weekend during the “M4 Range” training at Fort Carson. Cadets from across the Golden Buffalo Battalion gave up their Saturday to attend this special training opportunity.
After Cadets arrived at the M4 Range they immediately received a mandatory fire-arm safety briefing from the Army Range Manager at Fort Carson and from the GBB Cadre themselves. Cadets were split up into groups and assigned a monitor who evaluated their performance and provided guidance when needed. This additional training opportunity on long-range/short-range target practice and gun handling will certainly assist all junior Cadets (MSIIIs) this summer when they attend the required Advanced Camp – Cadet Summer Training (CST). Cadets are assessed/tested on their individual skills they have learned during their training in ROTC – including leadership capabilities, tactical planning, land navigation skills, marksmanship, lane maneuvering, and much more.
The Cadets who attended the training were grateful for the opportunity to sharpen and improve their long- and short-range target practice skills.
